Review: The Chicco Liteway – Aluminum Umbrella Strollerby Papa Techie
by Papa Techie
The CHICCO Liteway, a fun and easy to put together aluminum stroller roughly the same size as an umbrella style stroller. This stroller was very easy to put together and only took about 10 minutes to complete assembly. The CHICCO Liteway is about the average size of a regular umbrella stroller; however, it is slightly heavier than the average umbrella stroller.
This is compensated by the extra deluxe luxury items that accommodate the parent, the toddler or baby. The stroller has very large wheels; which makes it easy to go over multiple surfaces as well as dual engaged brakes.
The structure of the stroller overall is very sturdy and is an aluminum material. The release to fold the stroller is a two-part safety system which requires two different steps in order to close the stroller; which is very uncommon to more basic strollers.
It also has a five point safety harness system to keep your child snug and secure. The material is high-quality and the fabric looks like it would be very easy to care for.
The hood component of the stroller has a see-through vinyl window to keep an eye on your baby or toddler as you stroll about the park on a sunny day.
The hood component also is very large which will protect your toddler baby from the hot blazing sun and will also keep your child snug and warm in the winter as he/she can and lay back and take a nap.
The storage compartment underneath the stroller is very large compared to any regular umbrella stroller and you can fit a large crock-pot in the bottom of the stroller without having to remove the child out of the stroller.
Something that is very unique to the stroller is that the bottom component will detach and become a backpack for the parent if need be.
The handles of the stroller curved inward and they are at a decent height so you don’t have to bend over and hurt your back if you push your baby or toddler around for very long periods at Bush Gardens or the Store.
The foot rests are sturdy rubber when compared to the other light weight rubber like foot rests on basic umbrella strollers.
There is also an infant boot located towards the foot rest of the stroller they can be pulled out and clipped onto the loops that will help further protect your baby or toddler if they’re taking a brief nap or snooze inside of the stroller.
The stroller also comes with a cup holder for the parents, even though there’s no storage for keys, the cup holder was very strong and you can lift the entire stroller up by the cup holder alone. So once that cup holder is mounted it stays snug in place compared to the last cup holders off other umbrella strollers that I lost.
I must say that I think it’s a little bit unfair to compare this to other umbrella strollers as it clearly dominates this market for umbrella style strollers. CHICCO Liteway clearly offers some unique features; one of which as a parent I believe the ability to change your baby in the stroller in case of an emergency. As a dad many times, there’s no baby change stations around in the men’s room and this offers that type of privacy and comfort as well as storage space to carry all the necessary wipes and diapers to complete the task.
Overall, the CHICCO Liteway is a light, attractive, sturdy, and compact umbrella style stroller to keep in the trunk of your which will accommodate a large toddler comfortable and will also accommodate a smaller baby when a carrier stroller is unavailable.
