Public school students across South Hampton Roads got to enjoy three days off because of the snow storm. Now comes the bad part for youngsters: Much of that time needs to be made up. Here is how each division in South Hampton Roads plans to address the lost days.

Chesapeake: Jan. 27, originally an early release day, will be a full instructional day. Jan. 30, originally a teacher work day, will be a full day. Jan. 31, originally a teacher work day, will be a full day and will mark the end of the grading period. Feb. 1, originally an instructional day, will be a teacher work day. The division also lost two days in the fall to flooding, but those do not need to be made up.

Norfolk: Jan. 31, originally a professional learning day for staff, will be a full day. March 3, originally a professional learning day for staff, will be a full day. The division will use a banked day to make up the third day lost to snow last week.

Portsmouth: Make-up days have not been decided, a division spokeswoman said. The schedule includes two extra days, which have not been used.

Suffolk: Feb. 13, originally a parent/teacher conference day, will be a full day. Feb. 20, Presidents Day, will be a full day. March 15, originally a half day, will be a full day. The division also lost two days in the fall to flooding, but those do not need to be made up.

Virginia Beach: Feb. 20, Presidents Day, will be a full day. March 8, originally a professional learning day for staff, will be a full day. The division also lost two days in the fall to flooding; one was made up Oct. 24, and the other will be made up Jan. 30.
